Literacy Curriculum
During reading and writing workshop time, Mehlville School District students experience conferring, guided reading/writing, strategy groups, along with independent reading/writing. Students also participate in word study, shared reading and read aloud throughout their school day. Remedial reading services are available for students who need help with reading skills.

Math Curriculum
The Mehlville School District utilizes the Ready Math program for mathematics. The Ready Mathematics program helps address the emphasis on conceptual understanding through reasoning, modeling, and discussion that explore the structure of mathematics while also developing students' procedural fluency. The lessons in Ready Mathematics use a research-based, proven-effective, gradual-release instructional model with a balance of conceptual understanding and procedural fluency to build confidence and mastery of the math standards. Mehlville has also partnered with Discovery Education to provide professional development for our fourth and fifth grade teachers.
